Or rather, I read her blog and got such a kick out of the topic I had to do my own. Here are seven weird things about me:
1. When I get ready in the morning I MUST apply my lipstick. Even if I know I am going downstairs and will eat breakfast and mess it all up.
2. If you want to see me get really freaked out then please, by all means, touch my elbows. I don't know where this came from or why it is but I can not stand for someone or something to be touching my elbows. (other than long sleeves, of course.) If Jeff gets too close to me in bed and touches my elbow I am not a happy camper. I can remember my dad teasing me about it and quietly coming over and stroking my arm and then my elbow and I tried, I mean I really tried to remain calm. Failed everytime!
3. I am very much afraid of statues. If you are a regular reader of my blog then you will remember my first post dealt with this topic. Anything larger than me puts me into a complete panic, accompanied by a fast heartrate and heavy breathing.
4. I LOVE to clean things out -- closets, toy boxes, under-sink-cabinets, drawers, you name it and I am there! Hand in hand with cleaning out is organization. I love boxes, storage totes, labels, binders, folders etc. Unfortunately I am the only one in my family with this addiction. Now that's not to say that I am not sentimental. I have baby clothes for each child, completely filled in baby books, school papers, homemade ornaments, love notes, and cards from family and friends dating back to high school. I just don't think a child needs to have 12 Rescue Heroes that he never plays with -- let him keep 2 or 3 and donate the rest.
5. Along the same lines as fact #4 is that I hate clutter. Give me dust and dirt any day over clutter. We have a kitchen bar/ledge and I would tolerate Jeff's papers, magazines, odds and ends of things only for a couple of days and then would start with going through them to do something with them. Read it, toss it, put it away. Just get it out of my eyesight. Now that our house is on the market I am in complete heaven because it is a daily victory over clutter!
6. My husband got a good grin over this one... when I have a recipe down perfect (or at least just the way he likes it) I go and change it thinking I can make it better. I read enough magazines with great recipes and am always looking to improve on what I don't realize is already the perfect dish. Drives him nuts!
7. I cannot sleep with socks on. Not such a weirdo thing but me and my OCD would rather have freezing cold toesies than sleep in socks. I try every winter, get into bed with the socks, lay there a while, try not to think about it, toss and turn, then BAM! the socks get flung to the floor and I go right to sleep.
